February 2026 International Exchange Salon Accompanying Percussion Sound for Kabuki Let’s learn about “Tsukeuchi”！
CCIEA holds a monthly International Exchange Salon where non-Japanese and Japanese participants can meet and interact.
The theme for the February session is “Tsukeuchi,” the sound effects that play an essential role in Kabuki performance. With guidance from a professional Tsukeuchi performer, participants will also have the chance to try it themselves. Come and experience the techniques and spirit behind the distinctive sounds used in important Kabuki scenes, and enjoy the unique charm of this
traditional Japanese performing art together!
